Alan's father owned and ran the Blacksmiths at the Toll-Bar, in New Ferry, Birkenhead.
Alan went to sea (would ocasionaly bring carpets and towls home). He then worked at Camel Lairds shipbuilders as a Boiler Plater after that.
Alan had a high ranking Brother in the Navy (unsure of his name - possibly Archie).
Allan and Margaret were married in a religious ceremony on July 14th, 1947 at St. Stephens (Prenton).3
