Emma's father was Joseph (Joe) Boocock and her mother was Mary Leak. She had two brothers and a sister, named Alfred, Joshua and Sarah.  She was the youngest of the four children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named John, Ann, Mary, Charlotte and Martha.  She died at 9 months old in March 1862 in Milnsbridge.²
