According to the chapel Burial Book, Mary is buried in the same plot as her husband William. She was buried in 1892, aged 80. John Brereton (aged 4) is also buried in the same plot.

23rd inst. at the Independent chapel, Tattenhall, by the Rev John Morris, Mr William Brereton. of Harthill to Mary, youngest daughter of the late Roger Bate, of Beston Mills.

Mary (30) and Elizabeth (10) where in North Street, Northwich in 1841, so may may have had an illigetemate daughter (hence the civil marriage).
Mary had a niece Emma Clarke (b. 1844) with her in 1861
