Mary Bate

Mary was born in April 1810 in Tiverton and her baptism took place on May 27th, 1810 in Bunbury.¹²

  Tiverton in 1871 census, aged 60

She died at the age of 81 on February 19th, 1892 in Is-y-Coed. Her burial was in February 1892 at Brown Knowl (Methodist).³⁴

  Asumed died by 1901.

  According to the chapel Burial Book, Mary is buried in the same plot as her husband William. She was buried in 1892, aged 80. John Brereton (aged 4) is also buried in the same plot.

- 23rd inst. at the Independent chapel, Tattenhall, by the Rev John Morris, Mr William Brereton. of Harthill to Mary, youngest daughter of the late Roger Bate, of Beston Mills.

  Mary (30) and Elizabeth (10) where in North Street, Northwich in 1841, so may may have had an illigetemate daughter (hence the civil marriage).

  She lived in Caca Duton from 1871.⁵
