Mary's father was John Francis Arthur and her mother was Dorothy A Gosling. She was an only child. She died at the age of 67 on May 24th, 2000 in Birkenhead. The funeral took place on June 2nd, 2000 at St. James (New Brighton). Her cremation was on June 2nd, 2000.²³
