Louis-Augustin was born on August 28th, 1771 in Baie-St-Paul, Qc, Canada.  Louis-Augustin's father was Louis-Henri-Joseph-Étienne Simard.  His paternal grandmother was Cécile Tremblay. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Louis-Clément-Henri-Magloire, Jean-Baptiste-Saturnin, Marie-Luce and Geneviève.  He was the fourth oldest of the five children.  Louis-Augustin is no longer alive.
