Louis was born on October 25th, 1635 in Québec,.  Louis' father was Jean Côté and his mother was Anne Martin.  His paternal grandparents were Abraham Côté and Françoise Geneviève Loisel. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Simone, Martin, Mathieu, Jean, Jean-Noël , Marie and Louise.  He was the oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 34 on December 15th, 1669 in Chàteau-Richer, Montmorency, Qc, Canada.
