George was born on December 2nd, 1901.  George's father was John  William Harris and his mother is Esther Christie van Niekerk.  His paternal grandparents are George William Harris and Maria Dorothea Schafer. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Jacobus, John , Charles, Catherine (Cathy), Dorothy and Elbie.  He died at the age of 88 on February 2nd, 1990.

George and Augusti were married.  They had a son and three daughters, named Friedel (Bobby), Rita, Ruth and Anna.
