Margaret was born on October 29th, 1921.  Margaret's father was Frederick Angus Gifford and her mother was Edith Marion Boast.  Her paternal grandfather was James Gifford and her paternal grandmother is Maryanne (Mai) Kayser. She has three brothers named Leslie, Dudley and Joan .  She is the third oldest of the four children.
