איתמר's father was אהרון and his mother is Elisheba bint Amminadab. His paternal grandparents are עמרם and יוכבד; his maternal grandfather is עמינדב. He is the second of five children. He has four brothers named Cohanim, Abihu ben, Eleazer ben and Nadab ben.
