Note from Phyllis (Dye) Slater: My grandma, Margaret L. Wyatt Dye was raised by her grandma Wyatt, (Louisa Butcher Wyatt) on Cain's run.....Grandma Margaret never went to school and could not read or write but she raised a wonderful family....A great mother and had to be a hard worker, especially in those days...I remember a story that they told about the house burning down and they lived in the barn for a year until they could build it back. I believe it was Asa who was born in the barn... Not sure it was Asa, but believe I am correct.

Margaret and George were married in a religious ceremony on December 11th, 1884 in Reedy, WV. They had seven sons and two daughters, named Roy, Asa, Garnett, Hobart, Ola, Cecil, Hollie, Prudence and Levada.

Prudence Gertrude "Gertie" Dye
Prudence was born on September 11th, 1885. She died at the age of 73 on December 1st, 1958.
Roy Thomas Dye
Roy was born on September 6th, 1887. He died in an accident or as a result of an injury at the age of 85 in 1972.
Levada A. Dye
Levada was born on July 30th, 1889. She died in an accident or as a result of an injury at the age of 1 on July 30th, 1890.
Garnett Sylvester Dye
Garnett was born on January 29th, 1894. He died at the age of 100 on October 27th, 1994.
Hobart McKinley Dye
Hobart was born on July 4th, 1896. He died at the age of 79 on December 11th, 1975.
Cecil Rhodes Carter Dye
Cecil was born on July 11th, 1903. He died at the age of 75 on October 21st, 1978.
Hollie "Pearl" Dye
Hollie was born on September 5th, 1907. He died at the age of 86 on May 1st, 1994.
