Jared Stephens Sr 
Jared was born on September 28th, 1739 in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut.1 Jared's father was Simeon Stephens and his mother was Mercy Cotts. His paternal grandparents were Henry Stephens Jr and Elizabeth Fellows. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Simeon, Abel, Roswell, Hannah, Anna and Elizabeth. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died in an accident or as a result of an injury, Thrown from his horse, about 1800.1 General Notes
