Ovadia was born on September 23rd, 1920 in Baghdad, Iraq.  Ovadia's father was Yaacov OVADIA and his mother was Yafa Gorgia.  His paternal grandparents were Abdalla Ovadia YOSEF and Unnamed. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Naim, Eliyahu, Avraham, Aharon, Shoshana, Margalit and Esther.  He died at the age of 93 on October 7th, 2013 in Jerusalem, Israel.
