Josef was born on October 13th, 1878 in Zgierz, Poland. Josef's father was Moshe/Mosiek (Jankel) Yakov/Jakow SZEPS and his mother was Minna “Minka” GLIKSMAN. His paternal grandparents were Shmuel (Szmul) SZEPS and Chaja Sura; his maternal grandparents were Wolf GLIKSMAN and Chaja. He had six brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Mendel, Wolf, Shimon, Emmanuel, David, Abraham, Mania, Salca, Zolda, Natalia and SZEPS. He died at the age of 64 on November 24th, 1942 in Casablanca, Morocco.-
