Petrus Franciscus was born on June 10th, 1779 in Lummen and his baptism took place there on June 10th, 1779.¹² Petrus Franciscus' father was Joannes Michael Gaethofs and his mother was Anna Catharina Put. His paternal grandparents were Joannes Gaethofs and Maria Claes; his maternal grandparents were Henri Put and Margarita Rutten. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Joannes Matthias, Hendrik Frans Remi, Joannes, Joannes Antonius, Maria Catharina and Anna Maria. He was the youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 52 on April 25th, 1832 in Koersel.³
