Maria was born on November 19th, 1624 in Heusden Zolder.1   Maria's father was Jacob (Joes) Gaethofs and her mother was Margaretha Janssen.  Her paternal grandparents were Bartholomeus Gaethofs and Maria Beelen. She had two brothers named Bartolomeus and Batholomeus.  She was the youngest of the three children.
