Cornelius was born on November 24th, 1623 in Antwerp.1   His godfather was Cornelius Van Broeck and his godmother was Maria Stappart. Cornelius' father was Georgius BROERS .  His paternal grandparents were Michael BROERS  and Elisabeth. He had a brother and a sister, named Jacobus  and Elisabeth.  He was the oldest of the three children.  Cornelius is no longer alive.
