Minnie was born in 1884.  Minnie's father was William J. Hayes and her mother was Mary C. Azbill.  Her maternal grandparents were James Azbill and Mahala Jane Bicknell.  She was the nineth of ten children.  She had six brothers and three sisters, named Greenville, Richard Granville, James A., Thomas R., Garfield, Ernest, Mahalia, Elizabeth and Ida Bell.
