Effie's father was Ebb Cox and her mother was Alma Azbill.  Her maternal grandparents were Albin M. Azbill and Margaret Serena Cruise.  She is the youngest of five children.  She has three brothers and a sister, named Sherman, Elbridge, Charles and Margaret.
