Thomas was born in March 1763.  Thomas' father was Samuel Bicknell and his mother was Anne Parks.  His paternal grandparents were William Bicknell and Rosanna Cash.  He was the oldest of nine children.  He had four brothers and four sisters, named John, Linsfield, Benjamin, Randolph, Nancy, Jane, Rhoda and Hannah.  He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Lewis Terrell, Larkin Jones, Esanith, Clara and Dolly.
