Nancy Jane was born in 1849.  Nancy Jane's father was William Kelly Bicknell and her mother was Elizabeth Lowman Hawkins.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas E. Bicknell III and Mary Nancy Asbill Reeder.  She was the oldest of nine children.  She had four brothers and four sisters, named Ancel D., Thomas Erwin, William Owen, Albert Curtis, Lucinda Moody, Syrenna Frances, Lucy A. and H. Elizabeth.  She died at the age of 94 in 1943.
