Josiah purchased a house in Windsor in 1646, known as the Chief Justice Ellsworth House. Josiah was Freeman in 1657 and a juror in 1664. Children: Josias married Martha GAYLORD; Elizabeth married Nathaniel LOOMIS, Jr.; Mary married Sgt. Daniel LOOMIS; Martha married first Samuel STILES, and second George NORTON, Jr.; Thomas married Sarah MILLS; Jonathan married Sarah GRANT (grandparents of Oliver, Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court); John married Esther WHITE; Capt. Job married first Mary TRUMBULL, and second Mrs. Sarah CLARK; and Benjamin died young.
