PELEG was born in May 1638 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., R. I..  PELEG's father was PHILIP SHERMAN and his mother was SARAH ODDING.  His paternal grandparents were SAMUEL (ENGLAND) SHERMAN and PHILIPPA (ENGLAND) WARD; his maternal grandparents were GEORGE (ENGLAND) ODDING and MARGARET (ENGLAND).  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 81 in 1719 in Kingstown, Washington Co., R. I..
