Maria was born on August 15th, 1869 in s-Heerenberg (Montferland).1  Maria's father was Bernardus Joannes Henricus Welting and her mother was Franciska Johanna Takken.  Her paternal grandparents were Peter / Petrus / Piet Welting and Hendrina / Henrica Beijer / Baijer / Beijers; her maternal grandparents were Bernardus Josephus (Bernard Joseph) Takken (Tacke) and Angenita Alexandrina La Touer (Latouer / La Tour). She had three brothers and three sisters, named Gerhardus, Wilhelmus, Bernardus Joannes Josephus, Geertruida Johanna, Susanna and Johanna Maria.  She was the youngest of the seven children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Peter, Gradus, Petrus Johannes and Hendrina Willemina.  She died at the age of 81 on December 19th, 1950 in Bergh (Montferland).2
