Corneils was born on May 4th, 1766 in Berkhout.1  Corneils' father was Jan Klaasz Molenaar / Moolernaar and his mother was Jannetje / Jantje Jacobs Huys / Huijs / Huis.  His paternal grandparents were Claas Jansz Molenaar and Aagt / Aaght Pieters; his maternal grandparents were Jacob Pietersz Rood and Trijntje Jan Knip. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Klaas, Jacob, Cornelis, Pieter, Trijntje, Aagtje and Trijntje.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.
