Albert was born on February 7th, 1855 in Westervoort. Albert's father was Evert Heijmen and his mother was Hermina Boerboom.  His paternal grandparents were Albert / Albart Heijmen and Theodora Nas; his maternal grandparents were Willem Boerboom and Alijda Kempkes. He had two brothers and four sisters, and also two siblings of unknown gender, named Hendrikus, Wilhelmus, Theodora Aleida, Aleida Theodora, Everdina, Hermina, NN and NN.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 46 on February 4th, 1902 in Westervoort.
