Evert Jan was born on July 20th, 1794.  Evert Jan's father was Hendrikus / Jan Schilderink and his mother was Willemina Everdina / Wesselina ter Beek (Terbeek).  His maternal grandparents were Jurien / Jurrie ter Beek and Harmina Bannink (Bannink / Bannix). He had two brothers and three sisters, named Johannes , Hermanus / Harmanus, Johanna Hendrika, Elizabeth and Esselina.  He was the youngest of the six children.
