Dirck's father was Dirck van der Meer and his mother was Cathrina / Catrina van der Meer. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Jan, Klaas, Adrianus, Adrianus, Agnes Maria, Anna and Angenis.  He died on January 9th, 1717 in Amsterdam.  He was buried in Amsterdam, Heiligewegs- en Leidsche Kerkhof.
