Pieter was born in 1782.  Pieter's father was Pieter Pietersz de Boer and his mother was Trijntje Pieters Boots.  His maternal grandparents were Pieter Cornelisz Boots and Hilletje Ariens Schouten. He had two sisters named Maartje and Trijntje.  He was the youngest of the three children.
