Trijntje was born in 1788 in Landsmeer.  Trijntje's father was Gerrit Sijmensz / Simonsz Wals and her mother was Jannetje Pieters / Pietersd Dekker.  Her paternal grandparents were Sijmen Gerritsz Wals and Giertje / Guurtje Klaas Kalf. She had two sisters named Eefje and Diewertje.  She was the second oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 71 on March 5th, 1859 in Edam.1
