Aafie was born about 1849 in Landsmeer.  Aafie's father was Jan Marcusz Vos and her mother was Aafje Arijansd de Boer.  Her paternal grandparents were Marcus Vos and Antje Vis. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Arijan, Marcus, Jacob, Antje, Leentje and Maartje.  She was the third youngest of the seven children.  She died on December 18th, 1920 in Buiksloot.
