Jacob / Jacobus was born on October 26th, 1628 in Utrecht.1  Jacob / Jacobus' father was Christiaen Snep (Snip) and his mother was Elysabeth / Elisabet van Geyn (Geijn, Gehiem).  His paternal grandparents were Man / Vader and Vrouw / Moeder; his maternal grandparents were Niclaes van Geyn and Vrouw / Moeder. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Isaack, Joan / Joannes / Johannes, Elisabeth, Adriana and Mechelt.  He died at the age of 72 on August 24th, 1701 in Amsterdam.2
