Catarina, known as Catharyntjen, was born on December 31st, 1673 in Rotterdam.1  Catharyntjen's father was Isaack Snep / Snip and her mother was Jannetje / Janneken (Jannetge) Jacobs van den Vijver.  Her paternal grandparents were Christiaen Snep (Snip) and Elysabeth / Elisabet van Geyn (Geijn, Gehiem). She had two brothers and four sisters, named Johannis, Nicolaes, Maricken, Elisabeth / Lysbeth, Jannitje and Annittien.
