Trijntje was born in 1809 in Scharwoude. Trijntje's father was Dirk Ruijter and her mother was Trijntje de/den Haan.  Her paternal grandparents were Pieter Ruiter and Antje Fraaij / Fraai; her maternal grandparents were Jan de Haan and Aafje Balk. She had a brother and two sisters, named Pieter, Antje and Fie.  She was the second youngest of the four children.  She died at the age of 25 on July 18th, 1834 in Scharwoude.1
