Grietje was born on May 12th, 1833 in De Rijp.1   Grietje's father was Sietze / Sietse Pik and her mother was Cornelia / Knelisje Cornelis Poest / Post (Roos).  Her paternal grandparents were Willem Jansz Pik and Rijntje Rijnoutje / Rijnoudje van Reen; her maternal grandparents were Cornelis  Jansen Atkens / Atker and Trijntje (Treintke) Pieters Roos. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named Willem, Teunis, Cornelis, Willem, Cornelis, Guurtje, Truitje, Truitje, Trijntje and Rijntje.  She was the fifth youngest of the eleven children.  She died at the age of 85 on March 2nd, 1919 in Edam.
