Geertje was born on July 10th, 1746 in Berkhout.1  Geertje's father was Claas Gerbrants Nierop and her mother was Aagtje Cornelis Kok.  Her paternal grandparents were Gerbrand / Germen Jansz Nierop and Geertje Claasdr / Klaas de Boer. She had two brothers named Gerbrand and Cornelis.  She was the oldest of the three children.
