Jan was born on January 10th, 1745.  Jan's father was Klaas / Claas Dirksz Fraaij / Fraij and his mother was Trijntje Jacobs. He had a brother and two sisters, named Elbert, Meijnoutje and Maartje.  He was the second oldest of the four children.
