Judith's father was Frans Both van der Eem and her mother was Heiltje Resant.  Her paternal grandparents were Volcken Both and Hillegonda (de Edell?); her maternal grandparents were Cornelis Ottensz Resant (Rasant) and Alit Jan Symonsdr. She had two brothers named Cornelis and Volcken.
