Cornelis was born on August 31st, 1856.1  Cornelis' father was Pieter Bosstad and his mother was Elisabeth / Lijsbeth Molenaar.  His paternal grandparents were Henricus Bosstad and Guurtje Tuinman. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named Hendricus, Pieter, Pieter, Aris, Cornelis, Klaas, Aris, Lijsbeth and Guurtje.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 5 on February 13th, 1862 in Blokker.
