Arien was born on April 17th, 1767 in Obdam. Arien's father was Cornelis / Kornelis Adriaansz Schuitemaaker / Bobeldijk and his mother was Trijntje Volkerts Visser.  His paternal grandparents were Aarjan / Adriaan Cornelisz Schuijtemaker and Aaltje Cornelis Schagen; his maternal grandparents were Volkert Jansz and Neeltje Claas / Klaas. He had four brothers and a sister, named Volkert, Jan, Claas / Klaas, Pieter and Aeltje.  He was the second oldest of the six children.  He died at the age of 63 on July 25th, 1830.
