Jacob was born on July 11th, 1781. Jacob's father was Willem Jansz Beets and his mother was Grietje (Jacobsdr) Beets.  His paternal grandparents were Jan Doetsz Beets and Maartje / Marijtje Cornelis Haan / Doets / Heen; his maternal grandparents were Jacob Beets and Treintje Dirks Slot. He had a brother and four sisters, named Jan, Maartje / Meertje, Meertje , Jantjen and Antje.  He died at the age of 68 on August 4th, 1849 in Beemster.1
