Jacob was born on September 12th, 1746 in Beemster.1  Jacob's father was Jacob Beets and his mother was Treintje Dirks Slot.  His maternal grandparents were Dirk Slot and Crelisje. He had three brothers and a sister, named Dirk, Pieter, Cornelis and Grietje.  He died at the age of 71 on May 6th, 1818.2
