Jan Joosten was born in 1630 in Guelderland, Thielerwardt, Netherlands.  Jan Joosten's father was Melchior VanMeteren and his mother is Arience Anneken.  His paternal grandfather was Johan VanCuick VanMeteren and his paternal grandmother is Diske.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 76 in 1706 in Raritan, Somerset, New Jersey, United States.
