Major Welborn 
Major was born in 1886 in South Carolina. Major's father was John Olstin Welborn and his mother was Julia Mirandie Smith (Welborn). His paternal grandparents were Nathan Harvey Welborn and Frances Olstin Moore (Welborn). He had six brothers and three sisters, named Julius, William, John, Clarence, Claude, Walter, Betty, Dessie and Pauline. He is the second oldest of the ten children.-
