Emily was born on November 20th, 1931 in Anderson County, SC.  Emily's father was Samuel Van Jones and her mother was Lessie Lee Pace (Jones).  Her paternal grandparents were William Van Jones and Laodicea Elizabeth Bryant (Jones). She had three sisters named Marie, Gail and Elizabeth.  She died at the age of 82 on December 22nd, 2013 in Easley, SC.
