John M. Hamlin 
John was born on May 25th, 1837 in Buncombe County, NC. John's father was John Reagan Hamlin and his mother was Elizabeth Duckworth (Hamlin). His paternal grandparents were Eliakim Hamlin and Anna Phoebe Reagan (Hamlin); his maternal grandparents were Jonathan Duckworth and Kezziah England (Duckworth). He had a brother named James. He was the younger of the two children. He died due to Apoplexy at the age of 87 on May 24th, 1925 in Asheville, NC.-
