James Hamlin 
James was born in 1793 in North Carolina. James' father was Eliakim Hamlin and his mother was Anna Phoebe Reagan (Hamlin). His paternal grandparents were George Hamblin and Piercy Carey. He had a brother and three sisters, named John, Elizabeth, Sarah and Charlotte. He was the oldest of the five children.-
