Caroline was born in 1872 in Ararat, VIC.1   Caroline's father was James Henry WHARTON and her mother was Ann McCANN. She had two brothers and three sisters, named William, Alfred, Mary, Catherine and Amelia.  She was the second youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 3 in 1875 in Ararat, VIC.2
