Sidney was born on July 31st, 1909 in Port Pirie West, SA.1 Sidney's father was Zacharia (Zaccy) POINTON and his mother was Elizabeth WHITTING. His paternal grandparents were Jeremiah POINTON and Frances BROWN. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Alfred, Clarence, Walter, Grace and Enid. He was the youngest of the six children.-
