Susan was born in 1826 in Sussex, England.1   Susan's father was Richard MOPPETT and her mother was Ann UNKNOWN.  Her paternal grandparents were John MOPPETT and Susannah PENTECOST. She had two brothers and seven sisters, named William, Richard, Harriett, Frances, Ruth, Sarah, Eliza, Marcy and Mary.  Susan and Frances were twins.
