John was born on August 2nd, 1805 in Wykeham, North Yorkshire, England.1 John's father was Richard JOWSEY and his mother was Mary BAKER. His paternal grandparents were William JOWSEY and Suzanna WARCUP; his maternal grandparents were Robert BAKER and Elizabeth UNKNOWN. He had two brothers named William and Robert. He was the youngest of the three known children. He died at the age of 85 on January 12th, 1891 in Wykeham, North Yorkshire, England.1 General Notes
